Edith joined Dumont in 2014 as a patent analyst and is now in charge of the Chemical area of the Technical Department.

Her practice mainly focuses on the analysis and responses to Official Actions issued by the Mexican Patent Office (IMPI) for patent applications of chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological areas. In addition, she provides her expertise on scientific issues, such as for the patent analysis for Freedom-to-Operate and Infringement Opinions, as well as research of prior art and patent drafting. She also conducts prosecution of patent applications abroad, mainly in Latin America.Edith has published articles in some recognized IP magazines on substantive issues surrounding the Mexican patent system.
